My wife and I have probably been to 8 all inclusive over the last 12 years and this is the only one that we would consider coming back to. However, the purpose of my trip was to hang out with friends at a fun location and we certainly did that. Admittedly, I did not venture outside of the resort area, so I don't feel that I got to know Cancun very well. The other guests at the resort were friendly and had a good vibe. We saw a lot of colorful fish and I felt safe with the life jacket and the staff keeping an eye on us in the water. I also snorkeled with a friend (this was $50 for an hour, all equipment included). Shoutout to Brenda, as well, who was a host/emcee for some of the activities, such as Loteria and the karaoke. The staff were excellent! I was so impressed that Luis (BB), one of the staff who takes visitors and their luggage to their rooms and introduces them to the resort, even remembered my name! When I saw him a couple of days after checking in, he asked how I was doing and when I would be checking out. The cell service on my phone was spotty, so I recommend using messenger apps like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger to communicate. As it was my first time in Mexico, the most mildly stressful part was getting from the airport to the hotel using the shuttle service that was included. Although the resort is quite large, it takes little time to go from one area to another. My stay was comfortable and it was a great location to reconnect with friends. Access to all of these are included with the price-just be sure to tip the staff. There are several restaurants, bars, pools, and even scheduled activities that it is hard to get bored there. I had never been to an all-inclusive resort before, and I think Excellence Riviera Cancun was a good introduction. We have been to Mexico 3 times and this resort has exceeded our expectations making it our top choice.… It was handled beautifully with no issues at all. We were able to get a covid test at the resort to return to the US. They absolutely did their best to clean it each and everyday. □ The only downside which was no fault of the resort was the seaweed. Thank you to all the employees of the resort from bartenders, waiters, chefs, entertainment people, cleaners, pool guys, concierge and everyone else who makes The Excellence Riviera Maya excellent. ![]() We appreciate all of your hard work in ensuring our vacation was top notch. All of the staff wore masks the entire time in 90 degree heat to make sure the guests felt safe, which is no easy thing to do. We were a little nervous going due to the Covid situation but once we got there we felt safe and were able to relax. There were plenty of activities you could enjoy or be a part of. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious and the resort was super clean. My husband and I stayed at this resort for a week for our 20th anniversary and we were completely blown away by all of it.
